Fe 500D is the standard specification for RCC moment frames in Seismic Zone IV under IS 13920:2016. It provides the higher elongation (min 16%) required for ductile frame behaviour. Fe 550 is also available if your structural engineer wants to reduce steel tonnage — it can lower steel quantity by approximately 10% in equivalent designs.
